Choose the correct blower model
The booster combines several elements. First the expansion tank (or vessel) because it is the most visible element. It is he who will store the water under pressure and maintain it in order to avoid many stops and starts of the pump. Before choosing your model, it is advisable to check the operating pressure so that the balloon is suitable. Similarly, depending on the model, it will be preferable to install them with a water inlet from above. This type of device is subject to construction standards but also to installation which must be taken into account in order to avoid any risk.
Installing a booster: the settings to be made
For a good installation, this balloon must be placed after the pump, itself perfectly adapted to your needs. In addition to the many fittings, seals and nipples that must fit on your pipes, there is the pressure contact and its gauge. It is he who activates or not the pump according to the needs and ensures that there is always a constant volume of water at constant pressure in the tank. It must be mounted between the pump and the tank. The water pressure will be adjusted manually via this contact inside which is a spring. Better to favor a rather low pressure at the start (2 bars in general) to avoid that the pump often starts up. If you find that it is insufficient, it is always possible to increase it. The pressure should also be checked inside the balloon and should be slightly lower than that set on the ignition. In order to prevent any risk of leakage, you can use joint compound and tow before tightening all the fittings.
