Choose a tiled imitation

Tiling is now coming out of kitchens and bathrooms to enhance living areas. Terracotta, earthenware or stoneware tiles; natural stones; enamels or glass pastes, reproductions of old tiles… It is suitable for all decorative desires. You can opt for a less expensive tiled imitation. Mainly used for these imitations is porcelain stoneware.

Choosing a tile imitation: the qualities of porcelain stoneware

Very resistant and not very sensitive to temperature fluctuations, porcelain stoneware, also called porcelain stoneware, offers exceptional longevity. Very hard and not very porous, it is difficult to scratch. It can therefore be installed without problem outdoors or in high traffic areas. Be aware, however, that since sandstone is stronger than steel, it is sometimes difficult to cut. So plan to call a specialist if the installation requires special cuts.

Choosing a tile imitation: the different effects of porcelain stoneware

Porcelain stoneware imitates many materials like natural stone, marble, wood, fabric ... and even metal! It comes in the form of slabs, tiles or slats. It can be mass-colored, polished, enameled, satin, aged, shiny, mat ... and offers a wide choice of colors. Prefer unglazed stoneware, for example matt porcelain stoneware, which will be more resistant, for exteriors or rooms with high passage. The use of very shiny glazed tiles on a bathroom floor is to be avoided: you risk slipping when the floor is wet.
